The Protests: Can These Dry Bones Live?

The brutal death of George Floyd has awakened the consciousness of the entire world. The result of which has coined a phrase that will be etched in the heart and minds of people for years to come, “I Can’t Breathe”. It has also sparked a movement that has seemed to organically evolve into a self-driven machine called Black Lives Matters, consisting of a rainbow coalition of people from all walks of life.

Many are shocked by this (operation push) phenomenon. They are baffled when they try to explain how in three weeks, the entire world could be turned upside down concerning the lives of Black people. For over 400 years Blacks have suffered at the demonic oppression of systemic racism at the hands of White people. However, never in its history has there been such a cohesive response to its cruelty and unfairness.

I believe that there is much more to this than meets the eye. I believe that this is a divinely appointed season of prophetic events unfolding right before our eyes. As many of you are aware, 2019 concluded 400 years of slavery, (1619 to 2019 = 400 years). This was prophesied to Abram by God in a vision, that many have not taken the time to pay attention to.

“And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” Genesis 15:12-14

The beginning of 2020 has set off a series of events that will result in the gathering of God’s people, and the judgment of the entire world. While many struggles with the reality that we (the Blacks whose ancestors came here by way of slaves ships are the true Israelites of the Bible), the evidence is indisputable.

“And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you. Deuteronomy 28:68

There is no race of people on the entire earth that (historically) has fulfilled all the curses of Deuteronomy 28 other than Black African people who came here by way of slave ships.

“And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee. Deuteronomy 30:1-3

This is the season of the great awakening of a people whose identity has been stolen, who have suffered at the hands of their oppressors for 400 years. The curse is over, and just as God has promised, he will gather us and return us to our land.

It started with the Coronavirus, a devastating virus that spread across the world becoming a pandemic in less than four months. The interesting thing is that it has affected the United States greater than any other country; resulting in over one hundred twenty thousand deaths, and growing.

In its early stages, the country went into shutdown and social distancing, with a sense of urgency to prevent as many deaths as possible. However, when it was later discovered that Blacks were dying at a disproportionately higher rate than Whites, the government immediately began the conversation to re-open the country. This was a clear sign of the depth of systemic racism. A society with a greater concern for its economy than the lives of Black people.

At the beginning of this reopening, the world witnessed the death of George Floyd. A public lynching of a Black man that sparked the flames of protest across the world. This diabolical killing of a Black man was not the first to be seen in the public square. However, it was the first to be seen at a prophetic season of a 400-year curse being lifted off of God’s chosen people.

God, in the 37th chapter of Ezekiel, asked a question to Ezekiel that has generated the restoration of the true chosen people of God, who are the descendants of Slaves in this country and throughout the world.

“The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.” Ezekiel 37:1-3

Ezekiel’s response to this question was appropriate because he witnessed the exile of the tribe of Judah by the Babylonian. He also knew of the exile of the ten tribes of Ephraim by the Assyrians. (Please read ‘Our History’ posted on this site). However, God commands him to prophesy to these dry bones, and he gives him not only what to say but the order in which to say.

“So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.” Ezekiel 37:7-8

The noise and the shaking symbolizes a great awakening. The protesting in the streets of America and around the world concerning the injustice done to God’s chosen people, who were stolen from their land and brought to America as slaves. This resounding noise ‘Black Lives Matter’ has caused the dry bones of a hopeless people to come together, bone to his bone.

The sinew and flesh on the bones suggest that we are being recognized as human beings who have value and deserve to be treated as such. The prophetic word spoken over three thousand years ago is manifesting right before our eyes. This word had a divinely appointed time attached to its call, now, immediately after the 400-year curse of slavery is over. The consciousness of the entire world has been pricked by the hand of God.

But there was no breath in them, (I Can’t Breathe). This breath is the Spirit of the living God. (Romans 8:14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

For years We have fought for equal rights, and have protested against the injustice done to us by the hands of a wicked society. Many have given their lives, for the hope of being treated like human beings, only to have our hopes choked out by this wicked systemic racism.

While we fought to be equal, we failed to realized we were greater. The greatest sin committed against any people was done to us. The erasing of our names, robbing us of our heritage, the psychological raping of our self-respect and value, but worst of all the whiting out of our existence in the Bible, and relationship to our God. For this malicious act of hatred, they will be judged.

As we witness the protestors all over the world fighting for the rights and justice of Black people it is clear that they have become aware of our suffocating feeling of hopelessness. This injection of conscious awareness is undoubtedly the workings of the Holy Spirit bringing the bones, sinew, and flesh together.

The final move of God's prophetic word will be the outpouring of His Spirit upon all flesh.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.” Joel 2:28-29

Because it is impossible to breathe without the resuscitation of the Father’s Ruach Ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit, God commanded Ezekiel to prophesy to the four winds. As this resurgence of new life flows into the lives of God’s chosen, let us remember, it is in this momentous time that we rise and take back what was stolen from us, our royal priesthood.

“Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.” Ezekiel 37:9-10

As this great army rises, hold fast to the purpose of God, and that is, to bring His children back to the land of promise.
